Le nom est notamment porté dans la Côte-d'Or. Il était également présent autrefois dans l'Allier et la Moselle. Sens incertain : peut-être le surnom d'une personne au teint rosé. En composition : Rozat de Mandres (Lorraine), qui renvoie à l'une des diverses communes de l'Est appelées Mandres (52, 54, 55).
